The Last Full African Day

Our last complete day on the African Continent will leave some lasting impressions on the members of the group. Our day began with another humbling visit to a local village to learn of how things are for the locals. The thatch huts with mud floors and the manual pump well will make just about every American feel privileged for what they have. After the visit to the village, the group departed for a walking tour of Victoria Falls.

Victoria Falls is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world and has been hosted on prestigious television shows such as the Today show and the discovery channel. The group walked through the rainfall generated by the mist off of the falls bundled in rain suits in an attempt to stay dry. The view was spectacular and the falls were amazing to see. After the walking tour the group did some bartering with the local curios at the entrance to the hotel. Souvenirs were bought and life lessons of negotiating were learned first hand. The group then walked back to the hotel for lunch.

After lunch the group went to an afternoon elephant ride through the bush. These tame African elephants were amazing creatures to see up close and get a tour of their land from a birds eye view. The group was stopped at the river for a photo shoot and to let the elephants get a drink before returning to the base and then back to the hotel for dinner. The last day concluded with many memorable photos and experiences the group will never forget.
